we live every day for the dogs

Meet the Pack!

Brian

I live Every Day for the Dogs and feel so lucky to do so. A life long dog lover, I developed my passion for pack hiking deep in the hills of Apalachia. My pack and I have now returned to my hometown to share our Appalachian Action with our friends in the Pacific Northwest.

Emily

I keep this pack pointed in the right direction. Puppies are my passion and my trusted sidekick, Gibson, and I prep our Preschool Pack Campers for their big new world.

Elvis

I’m the big boy of the bunch. Better known as Wild Ginger, my dad foster failed with me and now I’m living my best life leading our adventure hikes.

Eloise

I’m Weezy. I bring up the back of the pack. People say I’m pretty much perfect and I’d have to agree!

Junebug

Hey y’all, I’m June, the South Carolina stray turned spitfire of the pack. I’m a lot of energy and a lot of fun and the best packmate you’ll ever have.

Root

Born in the Bahamas, I’m the baby of the family. I went from feral to first class and now my goal in life is having fun with my friends.

Pancho

Howdy. My two loves in life are cuddling on the couch and adventure hiking with my pack, Vamos y’all.

Gibson

An experienced foster brother who leads Preschool Pack Camp for the puppies and a monthly Pibble Parade.

Cooter

Working with Brian from PackwalkingPair has been so helpful to me, my husband and our dog Cooter. We had resorted to many work arounds due to dog reactivity which left us fearful.  Brian took it slow and gave us tools to make Cooter comfortable on pack walks. He taught us  about advocating, setting boundaries and trusting our dog. Cooter has been to Pack Camp,  packwalks, & boarded with Brian. We all love him and couldn’t recommend him enough. Every time he was in boarding, Brian took him on adventures, and I knew he was in the best of  hands. He is a truly caring & knowledgeable individual who will help you grow your relationship with your dog. 20/10 stars! Thank you so much!

Stevie

Brian and his Pack Camp have completely changed our dog’s life. Stevie is a young 2 year old golden retriever and very active. I just had a baby around a year ago so sending our dog to camp to get his energy out was so helpful. At Pack Camp they go on adventures that ALL dogs would absolutely love! They go into the woods and can be their true silly puppy self. When we get Stevie back he is wiped out and I don't have to feel guilty about whether I got his energy out enough that day. Brian is such a dog lover and treats every dog like it’s his own. If I ever came back to this world as a dog I would want to be one of Brian’s. Even in the rain these dogs do activities. We will miss Pack Camp so much here in North Carolina but whoever gets to take their dog to Pack Camp in Washington will get to experience Brian’s light and love for animals.

Ghost

My dog, Ghost has loved every minute of Pack Camp. He’s a high energy pup and was so happy to be able to hike and play with other dogs all day long while mom was stuck at work. He can sometimes get a little possessive of toys, especially a ball, but Brian had him otherwise engaged and Ghost never had a problem sharing while he was there. Ghost was also a regular boarder and I was never concerned or worried about him when he was with Brian. Brian always took the best care of him. We highly recommend pack camp to anyone lucky enough to be able to go!

Annabelle

Brian at PackwalkingPair has been my favorite dog sitter and trainer for my service dog Annabelle. Annabelle is a brindle pit bull and is as stubborn as she is goofy and she instantly fell in love with Brian and his pack. She quit jumping on people, became much better behaved and was so happy when she was with the pack. I always knew she was safe and loved. He always updated me with adorable photos and videos and I knew he cared for Annabelle as much as I did whenever she was with him. Western North Carolina is losing the best dog sitter, trainer, and packwalker that we've ever had and he'll be greatly missed!!

Mingo

How great is Brian and his Pack Camp services? When your doggy camp and boarding person tells you they are moving and you seriously considering packing up and moving across country too, that is how great working with Brian has been.  I searched for a year to find a place where my dog comes back happy and calm after boarding/camp and never looked back after we found Brian. He has been a great friend and partner in taking care of our high energy dog.  Brian’s time is worth every dollar!

Frank, Clara, Rose & Pearl

I am eternally grateful for Pack Camp. I signed up my husky and shepherd to hike just to get their energy out and have a little fun. But when Brian met my little feral hound and agreed to work with him to learn to walk on a leash and get to hike with his sisters, I was hopeful, but honestly unsure how it would go. Brian taught my little scared dog to walk on a leash and to hike with the pack and it has changed the life of this pup. Now when Brian shows up to pick them up, all three are so excited to go because they know what fun they'll have. 10 out of 10 recommend

Pearl

Brian has been amazing with our Great Dane Pearl! Pearl can be reactive with other dogs and has even been in a bad dog fight, but Brian has always been very patient with Pearl and us and showed us a few techniques to use with her. We have used Brian to dog sit Pearl a number of times and we feel so lucky that Pearl has had the opportunity to be with Brian and his dogs. Pearl always comes home tired and happy! We love PackwalkingPair!

Odie

In August 2024 I began the process of adopting a deaf, blind Australian Sheppard in Georgia.  His foster family felt that Odie was aggressive and a nipper. But my heart was set on being his mom. So arrangements were made to send him to PackwalkingPair in the North Carolina Mountains. With Brian’s gentle touch "our" Odie thrived. Brian understood Odie wasn't aggressive, he was scared and unsure whom to trust. This young man was abandoned when he was a tiny pup. Thru Brian Odie learned human touch and interaction was something to enjoy not fear. With Brian Odie learned to love being outdoors feeling the breezes and warmth of the sun. He learned outdoors could be for pleasure not survival. Brian always updated me on Odie’s progress. Chats, pictures, you name it. In mid October, after the hurricane, I went to pick my young man up. And got the pleasure of making a friend. To this day if I find myself needing advice Brain responds. He helps me understand Odie. You will never go wrong sending your fur babies to Pack Camp. Brian truly is passionate with his gentle handling and love for our doggies. I am certain his moving is going to be a major loss for his NC community and Pack families. But we all certainly wish him the success and Pack Family in WA as amazing as the one he created in NC was. P.S. your furs also will have a wonderful Grandma in Brian’s mom. I am so very grateful for Brian.

Finn

Thank you Brian for providing Finn with the best care and fun! I don’t trust many people with my boy, but you show him so much love! You give him adventures that I could not provide for him, all with his friends!! I cannot recommend your Pack Camp enough! The videos of his adventures are such an amazing extra. It’s wonderful to see how much he loves hanging out and exploring new trails. He comes home afterwards a happy, tired pup! Thank you for sharing your love of nature with him. Finn’s family

we’d love to hear from you
